
Farmers Can Now Sell 40 Quintals of Urad and Moong in a Day
Under the Price Support Scheme, the government has increased the purchase limit of urad and moong from 25 quintals to 40 quintals per farmer per day.
Purchase Limit Increased
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has increased the procurement limit of urad and moong under the Price Support Scheme from 25 quintals to 40 quintals per farmer per day.
Benefits for Farmers
Farmers who have already sold 25 quintals but still have eligible stock will receive another SMS after verification by district authorities. The SMS will remain valid for 10 days.
Statement from Agriculture Minister
Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel said that the earlier limit of 25 quintals caused inconvenience to farmers with higher production. Increasing the limit will reduce travel, fuel costs, and time for farmers.
Minimum Support Price
The government is procuring urad and moong at Minimum Support Price (MSP). For marketing year 2022-23, MSP is ₹6300 per quintal for urad and ₹7275 per quintal for moong.
